The TCC has approximately 60 members, living in all parts of the country and a few from overseas. Visitors to London, and potential members, are very welcome at the club's Social Meets.
Although the the TCC started out as principally a climbing club, these days over half of the membership do not climb but enjoy the hills in other ways, such as fell-walking, mountain biking, etc. |

Those who wish to learn to rock-climb are recommended and encouraged to undertake a beginners' climbing course. The BMC and many small private companies, run by qualified guides/instructors, offer such courses. Details can be found in climbing or outdoor magazines such as Climber, Summit, Trail or TGO. or by contacting the National Mountain Centre at Plas-y-Brenin
People going into the hills to walk or climb must recognise that these activities contain some inherent danger. They are ultimately responsible for their own safety and, if they feel they are attempting to do something beyond their capabilities, they must decline to take part.
