The Tuesday Hillwalking and Climbing Club

is a London-based climbing club which welcomes adult hill walkers and climbers of all abilities and currently has a membership of about 70-strong. The TCC is affiliated to the British Mountaineering Council.

The club meets in London for social events, lectures and for occasional trips to local climbing walls.  Away meets, both in this country and abroad, are a key feature of the club's activities, ranging from weekends in the English Lake District, Derbyshire, Wales and Cornwall, camping (mainly in the summer) or staying in club huts, to longer trips to Scotland and Europe. Day walks, within easy reach of London, are also organised from time to time.

Away Meets

The TCC organizes Away Meets and Day Walks approximately once or twice a month and occasionally abroad.

Social Meets

From October 2008, Social Meets will be held in collaboration with the ABMSAC, AAC, Fell and Rock, and the Rucksack Clubs.  All the lectures will take place in Central London at the Chadwick Street Recreation Centre (CSRC) in Chadwick Street, London, SW1, and typically on the SECOND WEDNESDAY of the month (but please check the programme).

All social meets commence at 7:30pm.   Meals and drinks can be purchase prior to this in the cafeteria and bar on the first floor.

Club Hut

The TCC jointly runs the The George Starkey Hut in Patterdale in the English Lake District. The hut is well appointed, sleeps 28 (of which 8 places are permanently reserved for members) and is situated in the centre of the village of Patterdale in the North-East quadrant of the English Lake District.

Arete - The TCC Magazine

The TCC publishes free to members its own magazine, Arete, once a quarter. As well as info on up-coming meets, the Arete contains articles recounting the exploits of TCC members in the great outdoors.
